Psalm 68:5 “A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.”
High Adventure Ministries began supporting Israel in the early 1970's through tourism to the Holy Land. Founder George Otis Sr., a former aerospace executive and general manager of the Lear Corp, was one of the first evangelical leaders to realize the significance of Israel's role in the end times, and the importance of the church's relationship to God's chosen people. In achieving its mission, the chief method used by High Adventure is the strategic use of mass communication. Radio, distribution of books, films and literature, and training of people to understand how the disciples of the kingdom of God relate to those spheres of human endeavor which play a dominant role in our world. Voice of Hope was the first radio station in the Middle East to preach the Gospel.
Voice of Hope radio station ministry’s was established in 1979 on a battlefield in southern Lebanon. Several hours of religious programming were kicked off by a few minutes of twangy bluegrass -- an Otis touch. On October 17, 1985, four armed Shite Muslim suicide bomber terrorists blew up part of the Voice of Hope’s station complex, killing three of its’ Lebanese staff and two of the bombers. (GKO) Station signs back on in 24 hours from studios in the village of Marj-Ayoun. Although High Adventure is not formally a "relief" organization, it believes providing for such essential needs is a demonstration of Christ's love to the individual. The result of physical "relief work" is often an openness or introduction to spiritual matters. Throughout its history, the ministry has provided food, medical care and equipment, clothes, audio-visual equipment, blankets, toys, Christian libraries, Bibles, eyeglasses, and orphan care to thousands. George Otis passed away in 2007 at the age of 90. High Adventure to this day is dedicated to carrying on his legacy and the great commission to go into all the world and preach the Gospel of Christ.

Training the next generation of Christian Leaders in broadcasting, publishing, marketing, public relations and government affairs. Although there is a huge market for Christian broadcasting and content, secular media continues to dominate our culture. In many cases Christian voices of hope are drown out by fear and a drumbeat of anti-Christian propaganda from the main stream media. In addition, those with a Biblical world view have been exiled from the town square. The Voice of Hope Leadership Institute will give Christians the knowledge and confidence to go out into all the world to preach the Gospel. This 6 week seminar will feature local and national media personalities and is perfect for students, church leaders, entrepreneurs, or anyone looking for a career in media or communications. Each seminar will offer a workshop environment and networking opportunity. Dates, time and cost to be determined by participation. Let us know if you are interested.

Krav Maga (Hebrew: קרב מגע, "contact combat,)" is a military self-defense system developed for the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).
Krav Maga is derived from a combination of techniques known for real-world situations and its extreme efficiency. Krav Maga is the official hand-to-hand combat system of the Israeli Defense Forces. It is also the preferred system for U.S. Military and law enforcement personnel. Krav Maga emerged in an environment where extreme violence was common. It has had ample opportunity to be tested and improved under real life conditions, proving itself to be an ideal and realistic means of defending oneself in the face of life threatening danger. In the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), a lone soldier is defined as a serviceman or woman without immediate family in Israel usually non-Israelis of Jewish background. Lone soldiers serve in regular units and receive various forms of support from the IDF, Israeli government ministries and other organizations, but many times this support falls short to meet basic needs. In addition to financial hardships, these Loan Soldiers often suffer from loneliness and homesickness. There are over 7,000 lone soldiers currently serving in the IDF. About 45% of these soldiers are new immigrants, coming from Jewish communities all over the world. The most represented countries of origin were Russia and the United States. The goal of the High Adventure Lone Soldier program is to provide moral and financial support for these brave individuals who have sacrificed so much to protect the Holy Land

Dave began his ministry as a musician touring with Joy Inc out of Milwaukee Wisconsin. After serving as a youth and music minister for 20 years at Louisville Trinity Church in Louisville Kentucky, Dave pioneered a new church plant. He and his wife Pam have been pasturing this church - The River - for the past 20 years. Dave and Pam have two children, Faith and Kylin.
Over 20 years ago pastor Dave Heigl planted a new church in the heart of Jeffersontown KY. Today The River reaches not only the east end community but has branched out to the west end of Louisville. Ten years ago pastor Dave began ministering to the working class community of Portland. Originally beginning as a traditional church, it didn’t take long to figure out that in order to reach this amazing community, he would have to try some alternative methods. After trying unsuccessfully to reach the adult community by hosting a weekly Bible Study, pastor Dave hit the streets. Each weekend a group would walk the west end talking to neighbors and asking if they needed prayer. The need for a local church that could really impact the Portland area was still not realized. About 5 years ago the opportunity opened up for him to open a food pantry thus The Urban Ministry Center was born. Each week since then, the Urban Ministry Center has been feeding from 60-100 families weekly. Every Monday the pantry opens it’s doors. Those who come for food are offered the opportunity to attend a short worship service where they are encouraged to walk in their true identities instead of defining themselves by their sins. The results of these services have seen an average of 500 come to the Lord each year. God continues to bring in new people each week and then He shows them His amazing unconditional love. His goodness and kindness draws them to salvation and they are set free.
One day at the pantry several attendees asked, “When are you going to start a church here?” Site 61 (taken from Isaiah 61) was birthed out of that request. Site 61 meets every Sunday evening. People who attend are being discipled and are encouraged to continue their walk with the Lord. After the service there is a fellowship meal where people (whether they attend the service or not) are given a warm meal.

High Adventure is excited to announce the addition of Moses Moon as our new head of Israeli operations. Moses was born in Canada and raised in a believing and incredibly creative home. He says he was nurtured by love of the Lord, and creative giftings.
In 2010 Moses set out on the biggest adventure of his life when he joined the IDF (Israel Defense Force) and served with the best of the best. His service was within the unit Kfir under the Shimshon regiment/battalion. Moses served with distinguished excellence, proving himself in dedication, while excelling through all course materials and in action during active duty.
In 2013 Moses finished his service and started his own Krav Maga (self-defense) company in Canada, utilizing what he learned in the IDF. Often traveling to other martial art schools throughout the USA to teach or critique their material. During this time he also traveled for Humanitarian Aid causes, mainly in Cuba and El Salvador, spreading God’s love and administering basic and medical care.
In 2016 Moses was lead back to Israel to live and serve once again, but this time in the reserves, as is customary for Israeli citizens. His current profession is in high end private security. During this time he says he is flushing out and building his skills. Moses is always looking out for God given opportunities to continue sharing His love and Kingdom values and says he is excited to join High Adventure and carry on George Otis’s legacy of spreading God’s Word in Israel.
